Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan are reportedly working to ‘reconcile’ their relationship amid rumours they have split.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the pair had parted ways, eight months after they were first linked.
According to Entertainment Tonight, the pair have been in contact but “are not officially back together yet.”
A source told the publication, “Sabrina and Barry are in contact and trying to make things work, but they are not officially back together yet.”
“Sabrina is trying to keep things private.”
The insider continued, “Barry likes to be more public sometimes and will use social media to flirt with Sabrina and get attention in a cute and funny way.”
However, last week, the Irish actor shrugged off split rumours by praising the singer’s new song about him, which appears on her latest album, Short ‘n’ Sweet.
Taking to Instagram, the Dublin native urged fans to go listen to Sabrina’s new album.
He wrote: “BED CHEM my fave just saying m’darlin @sabrinacarpenter 😎🥵☘️.”
The song Bed Chem seems to recall the moment Sabrina and Barry met last year.
While she doesn’t mention the Dublin native by name, there are plenty of clues she’s talking about the Saltburn star.
The song starts with her singing: “I was in a sheer dress the day that we met. We were both in a rush, we talked for a sec. Your friend hit me up so we could connect. And what are the odds? You send me a text.”
As fans will know, Sabrina and Barry first met at a Givenchy show during Paris Fashion Week, where the pop singer wore a stunning sheer dress.
In the chorus, Sabrina continues to sing, “Who’s the cute boy with the white jacket and the thick accent?”, which fans believe is a reference to his distinctive Dublin accent.
The song’s release came amid reports Sabrina and Barry had called time on their romance.
Last month, it was first rumoured that the pair had parted ways after the celebrity gossip site DeuxMoi shared an anonymous tip on their account.
Taking to Instagram, the “Gossip Girl” DeuxMoi shared a message which read: “Sabrina and Barry broke up.”
The Sun later reported that the pair split weeks ago due to the Irish star’s alleged partying.
A source told the publication: “Barry acts like an idiot when he is drunk, and Sabrina was getting increasingly frustrated.”
“He has always been a party animal and Sabrina was fed up with his antics. She is soaring in the charts and is putting herself first as she gears up for her tour next month.”
The Irish actor was first linked to the American singer last December when they were papped out for dinner together in Los Angeles.
