Miley Cyrus has revealed who was behind the controversial pole dance during her 2009 Teen Choice Awards performance.
The 32-year-old pop star performed her iconic hit Party in the USA at the award show more than ten years ago.
Now, Miley has revealed her mother Tish Cyrus was behind the controversial stage prop.
In an interview with her 37-year-old sister Brandi Cyrus for Spotify’s Billions Club series, Miley revealed the truth about her mother.
“This is going to be no surprise to you,” Miley teased before asking Brandi, “Do you know whose idea that was?”
Brandi correctly guessed that it was Tish’s idea, as Miley confirmed: “Yup, that was my mom’s idea. So she always lets me take the blame.”

Miley recalled: “When I got in trouble the next day, you know who was nowhere to be found? Tish Cyrus.”
The singer went on to reveal the unforgettable performance, as she confessed: “The thing that I remember most about that performance was it was the first time I ever wore real diamond jewellery on stage.”
“So you guys remember a little old ice cream truck, I remember the diamonds.”

The revelation comes after Miley revealed which Britney song was REALLY on 15 years after the iconic song Party in the U.S.A. was released.
The famous Party in the U.S.A. lyrics are: “Too much pressure, and I’m nervous/ That’s when the DJ dropped my favourite tune/ And a Britney song was on.”
The song frequently reappears during significant American occasions, earning it the title of “The Unofficial National Anthem.”

During an interview for Spotify’s Billions Club episode, Miley revealed to her sister Brandi what song she was referring to.
Brandi asks Miley: “The burning question everybody wants to know, what Britney song was on?”
“If I had to choose one, it would be [‘I’m a Slave 4 U’],” Miley said.
“When I watched that video for the first time, that’s when I knew I wanted to be a stripper,” she laughed.
Miley reiterated what she meant: “No, a star,” before joking again: “Why choose when you can be both?”
