Kim Kardashian has been hit criticism online for letting her daughter North West go to Coachella without her over the weekend.
The eldest daughter of the reality TV star and Kanye West took to TikTok to show off her outfit for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.
Dancing alongside two of her pals, the 11-year-old opened up the video by wearing a grey hoodie and a plaid miniskirt over a pair of long black shorts.

She had all her belongings in a Balenciaga bag – worth €2,201 – and finished her look with a glamorous palette of make-up.
North captioned the clip: “Coachella day 2.”
Many people online did not feel it was suitable for her to go without Kim, and in a since-deleted Reddit thread, one critic asked: “Does anyone find it weird that 11-year-old North West is at Coachella?”
Someone responded, saying: “Sorry to sound like a regressive aunty but she’s too young to be dressing and putting makeup on like that and forget about Coachella, I wonder what goes in Kim’s head when she indirectly lets her daughter act and look like an adult.”
“Kim using Coachella as daycare is so funny to me though,” a third added.
A fourth penned: “Kim can’t wait till she can make money off North, that’s what’s going through her head! I agree about staying a child as long as you possibly can.”
This comes after the SKIMS founder slammed critics who called out North’s performance as Simba in The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl.
In a February episode of The Kardashians, Kim explained that she knew to be prepared for her daughter being criticised for her performance.
“I already know what’s coming… That she’s not Whitney Houston. Duh!,” Kim said to the camera.
In response to those who argue North “got the job because of her parents”, the 44-year-old said: “North is the moment.”
“They want to see North West on a TikTok, on a this, on a anything. Because she’s a personality, a performer. And if anyone wants to hate on a child that having is having the time of their lives, ‘F**k you.’”
North played Simba back in May 2024 at a live concert at the Hollywood Bowl, celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Lion King.
Her rendition of I Just Can’t Wait To Be King gathered a lot of mixed reviews online, due to the standard of her performance not matching the high level of professionalism as seen in the Broadway stars surrounding her.
One person wrote on X: “It needs to be said: North West was not good in The Lion King. And her family/production did her no favors in letting her go on anyway… There were likely dozens of experienced kids that should have been cast.”
“She’s so proud of herself. She did such a great job. And anyone that is hating on a kid is just a hater—she’s not there to be Mariah Carey.”
This performance also saw a rare sighting of Kim and Kanye together, as they both came to support their daughter.
Although the pair went through a messy divorce that was finalised in 2022, Kim reassured viewers that “Kanye and I want the best for the kids.”
“So any time we’re here supporting our child, it’s always good vibes,” she added.
We then saw the rapper say to his ex-wife backstage: “Man, she did so good. What did you think?”
To which she replied, “I was just crying from the side.”
