Kanye West has made shocking comments about having children with Kim Kardashian.
The former couple, who split in February 2021, share four children together – North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.
During an interview with podcaster DJ Akademiks, which was posted on X, the rapper claimed he initially “didn’t want to have children” with his now ex-wife.
DJ Akademiks said, “When you speak about Kim, people might be like, ‘Well, you picked her. You put yourself in that.”
Kanye agreed, and said, “Absolutely, I did. That was my fault. No, that was my fault.”
“I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with them,” he added, “but that wasn’t God’s plan.”

The 47-year-old, who finalised his divorce from Kim in November 2022, also discussed his ongoing feud with his ex-wife over the trademarking of their children’s names.
The drama kicked off when Kanye recently shared a song seemingly featuring their eldest daughter North, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and Combs’ son Christian “King” Combs.
Diddy is currently being held in prison as he awaits a trial for charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Kanye shared the new track, which is titled Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine, on X and Kim took legal action to try and stop it being released.
At the time, Kanye posted screenshots of texts between him and Kim, which reveal that she is the current owner of the copyright of North’s name.
Kanye sent Kim a message that read: “I’m never speaking with you again,” to which she responded: “I asked u at the time if I can trademark her name, you said yes, when she’s 18 it goes to her.”
“So stop, I sent paper work over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her, One person has to trademark!”
Kim stated: “We agreed when they were born I would get all of our kids’ names and trademarks, so no one else would take them.”
Kanye then responded: “Amend it or I’m going to war, and neither of us will recover from the public fallout.”
“You’re going to have to kill me.”
Addressing his current beef with Kim, Kanye said: “When my daughter was put on the song, that’s when I realized that I didn’t own their name and likeness.
“I don’t have at least 50-50 with my kids, so how is it joint custody? My kids are celebrities, and I don’t have a say.”
“This white woman and this white family have the control of these highly influential Black kids that are half the kids of Ye,” he continued, “and that’s just in everybody’s face. They play in my face like that.”
Kanye went on to declare it’s “war” between him and the Kardashian family, and said: “They think they’re too powerful.”
“When you’re a celebrity, it starts to be about more what fame it’s going to get you, what clout it’s going to get you, what money it’s going to get you over, ‘Is this the right thing for your children?'” Kanye asked.
“I’m willing to die for my children than to allow them to be in this environment that I know they’re in.”
