Jennifer Lopez is reportedly ready for a “fresh new year” following her “rough” divorce from Ben Affleck.
The pair reportedly filed for divorce in August after nearly two years of marriage.
The couple married in July 2022 in an intimate Las Vegas ceremony.
The following month, the couple exchanged vows in front of their family and friends when they hosted a second ceremony at Ben’s lavish estate in Georgia.
In July, TMZ reported that the 55-year-old had filed for divorce after months of speculation.
Insiders claimed their marriage has been over “for months.”
In a piece published on Friday, a source informed People that the actress plans to move on from the breakup of her marriage in 2025.
The insider explained that Lopez is “focused on her own life” and added, “She has had a rough year but is doing well. She’s ready for Christmas and to start the new year fresh.”
Jennifer has been “house-hunting for herself and the kids” and “would like to find another home for them.”
She and Ben purchased a $68 million Beverly Hills property, which was first advertised in July and is still for sale.

At the time of the announcement of their divorce, a source claimed to InTouch that Jen and Ben were dealing with major marital struggles and would go weeks without spending time together.
TMZ also reported that the actress listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024, and failed to mention a prenup.
In an interview with comic Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine, the singer talked candidly about handling the dissolution of her marriage to 52-year-old Affleck.
In response to the media attention she has garnered over the summer following her divorce from Ben Affleck, Jennifer admitted: “I’ve been doing this a very long time, I hate to admit. I like to think that I’m still 16, but I’m not.”
“I know that everything that’s being written and said about me, and all the conjecture of who I am as a person, is not who I am. I learned that a long time ago.”
“And social media, because it came along after I had been in the public eye for a while, I don’t take it as seriously as everybody.”
“I know who my friends are. I know my friends know who I am, my mom, my dad, all that stuff. If you hope to have a long career, you have to learn how to deal with that part of the business.”
“Some people are going to love you and some are not going to understand you, and some people just want to hate you to hate you, and none of that really matters.”
“What matters for me, as an artist, is doing work that inspires me and that I enjoy doing, whether it’s a huge commercial success or something that only touches one person that nobody ever fucking even sees. It doesn’t matter.”
“This is my life’s passion. I love to sing. I love to dance. I love to act. I love to entertain. I love to create. And anything anybody could say about me—and please don’t get me wrong, if I see something that’s hurtful, I’m not Teflon.”
Speaking about how the most important relationship is with yourself and if she is practising self-love, Jennifer said: “That, to me, is a scary thing too, or a confusing thing, because it’s like, ‘Oh, you couldn’t love me if I have flaws. I have to be perfect to be loved.’”
“That’s not true! Somebody who truly loves you will help you heal those parts of yourself. That’s what I’ve learned about love, that it is a secure thing. You make me feel safe, and when I fall short of the glory, you understand me and you help me to grow to be better, because you have your boundaries and I have my boundaries.”
“And I go, ‘Here’s where you’re falling short for me and here’s where I’m falling short for you.’ And so, we get better at those things together.”
The divorce reports come after months of speculation that the pair had called it quits on their marriage.
On Tuesday, July 16th, the songstress was spotted riding a bike in the Hamptons without her other half.
That same day, the Hollywood actor was seen walking into his office in Los Angeles wearing a black suit, holding a large duffle bag.
It was understood their combined five children were determined to help them “work it out for better or for worse”.
Ben, 51, has three children with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.
Meanwhile, Jennifer is the mother of 16-year-old twins Max and Emme, who she had with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
A source told DailyMail.com: “The kids think Jennifer and Ben are really, deeply in love, like soul mates and they don’t want them to divorce.”
“They want them to work it out for better or for worse, like their vows said. And they do feel that the two should continue counseling and talking it out, even if it is painful.
“They feel like if they do and say the right things that there could be more peace.”
The insider noted that the kids want Ben and Jennifer to get back together before her 55th birthday on July 24th.
Jennifer, 54, and Ben, 51, sparked split speculation earlier this year when they attended major events separately.
In May, the songstress attended the 2024 Met Gala, where she stunned in a Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown without Ben—despite being one of the event’s co-chairs.
Jennifer was also absent from the premiere of his new Netflix project Atlas.
It was later reported that the couple were “living apart” amid speculation surrounding their marriage, and they are now selling their $60million mansion in Beverly Hills.
