Isla Fisher has spoken out about her “difficult” split from Sacha Baron Cohen.
The Borat comedian and the Wedding Crashers actress had kept their relationship out of the spotlight for the majority of their relationship.
Speaking to The Sun, Isla opened up about their breakup for the first time: “It’s the most difficult thing that I’ve been through and I’ve learnt so much about myself in the process. I never imagined my family being separated but we are committed and loving parents.”
“Kids are the most important thing and you want them to really feel safe and loved,” she replied.
“We are building a new, healthy version of what our family looks like and putting as much care and love into it as possible.”
A source told Page Six that Sacha met with celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser in late 2023.
Both Sacha and Isla shared a photo of the couple dressed in tennis gear to announce their split.
The Instagram story read: “After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down.”
“In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change.”
“We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
The news of their split came after Rebel Wilson branded Sacha an “a**hole” in her upcoming memoir- Rebel Rising.
The Australian also claimed that the actor asked her to strip naked on set amid their vicious legal battle.
The actress claimed she was facing potential legal action after writing about her experience working with an unnamed former co-star, who we now know to be Sacha.
Rebel has now claimed she had an uncomfortable experience with the actor while filming the 2016 comedy The Brothers Grimsby.
The actress played the role of Dawn who was his character Nobby’s girlfriend.
In the paragraph obtained by People Magazine, Rebel claimed that Sacha would repeatedly ask her to strip off for scenes despite her “no nudity” rule.
