Fans have become convinced Selena Gomez’s new music references ex Justin Bieber amid her engagement to Benny Blanco.
On Tuesday, the singer released the track list for her and fiancé Benny Blanco’s anticipated album I Said I Love You First.
Many social media fans were drawn to the two-time Grammy nominee’s 11th song, You Said You Were Sorry.

Fans began to speculate the song is a direct “reply” to her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber’s 2015 single Sorry.
One user wrote: “I can’t help but think ‘You Said You Were Sorry’ is gonna be a reply to Justin’s Sorry.”
Another asked: “Is You Said You Were Sorry about Justin??”
The eight-year relationship between Justin and the Emilia Pérez actress began in 2010 and ended in 2018, the year he wed Hailey Bieber.
Selena has since found love with Benny Blanco, who proposed in December after more than a year of dating.
At the time, an insider told DailyMail.com that while Justin was focused on his family, the singer had said that this marked the “end of an era.”

A source told the publication: “Justin is married and has a kid, we all know that but when he heard that Selena was engaged, he’ll even admit, it stung for a brief second.”
“Because even though they will never be friends or date again or anything like that, it is officially the end of an era.”
Another report has claimed Selena Gomez delayed her engagement announcement because of her ex Justin Bieber.
According to insiders, the pair decided to delay going public with the news over fears it would be tied to her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber becoming a first-time father.
Justin and his model wife Hailey Bieber welcomed their first child, a son named Jack, on August 22nd.
A source told DailyMail.com: “They became engaged in August and Selena didn’t want her engagement to be tied to Bieber in any way. They knew it would.”
“Selena knew that there would be stories accusing her of getting engaged to turn attention away from Justin’s baby, or that people would claim that she did this to one up him.”
Shortly after Selena and Justin split, the Canadian singer rekindled his romance with model Hailey Baldwin in 2018.
That July, Justin proposed to Hailey during a trip to the Bahamas, and they secretly tied the knot in September 2018.
One year later, the couple exchanged vows for the second time at a star-studded ceremony in South Carolina – and they have since welcomed a son named Jack together.
Meanwhile, Selena started dating Benny in June 2023, but the pair have known each other for over a decade, and have previously worked together in the studio.
