Cardi B has shocked fans as she retracted her claims that the LAPD stripped her “butt naked” outside her house.
The 31-year-old made the allegations during an Instagram live stream on Monday.
However, on Tuesday the LAPD told both TMZ and The Daily Beast that there was no record of that incident ever taking place.
The Bodak Yellow has now come forward to say that there was “no truth” to her story and that she was “taken out of context.”
“This IG live was taken out of context and there is no truth to this story. Apologies for any confusion,” the rapper said in a statement to Billboard.
The mother-of-two took to Instagram Live on Monday to tell fans that she was “stopped by the cops” in Los Angeles on Sunday.
“They thought I was trafficking fentanyl, and they thought I had a gun in my car, so they stopped me and everything. All the helicopters in L.A., they was outside. Yo, I was freaking out,” she continued.“
“It was, like, some white cops or something. They didn’t know who I was so they was really tough on me and everything. They said that somebody gave them a clue,”
“I already feel like it was one of my opps and s–t. They really trying to ruin my life.”
“They had me outside for like, three hours. They had me getting butt naked outside, s**t was crazy. It was deadass a movie and whatever, but you already know.”
Cardi also claimed that she had plans to “sue the LAPD” over the alleged incident.
Despite her claims, a detective at the LAPD told the Daily Beast that they had “no record of contact with Cardi.”
Law enforcement sources also told TMZ that there were no reports of the incident Cardi described and that “if something as dramatic as what she described happened, it’d be documented.”
