Cardi B has reported filed for divorce from husband Offset after seven years of marriage.
The rapper reportedly is seeking primary custody of their children Kulture, five, and Wave, two.
The rap star’s rep confirmed to Page Six the news that the couple have officially parted ways.
A source told the publication: “They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else. This is something she wants to do.”
They claimed Offset wasn’t caught off guard by the divorce, saying they’ve “been trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while now.”
The insider continued: “It’s not something that happened overnight… They’ve both been on the same page.”
“There wasn’t [pushback]. They’ve grown apart and that feeling has gotten stronger overtime. It’s become unavoidable”
The couple have been married since 2017, however, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing.
Cardi first filed for divorce from her husband in September 2020 – after she accused Offset of cheating during their marriage.
However, she later took back her claims and the pair stayed together.
In December 2023, a news report revealed that Cardi B and Offset’s marriage had always been “tumultuous”.
This came after the rapper confirmed that she was “single”, following her husband Offset denying he cheated with rapper and reality star Chrisean Rock.
The couple, who met in 2016, have had their fair share of online drama – with Cardi revealing to her fans that their entire relationship was “fake” in December 2018.
Offset also proposed to Cardi on stage in October 2017, although they were already legally married at the time.
In January 2018, it was speculated that Offset had cheated on Cardi and even made a sex tape with the other woman.
Cardi responded to the criticism she faced for staying with Offset in February 2018, saying, “It’s not right, what he f*cking did – but people don’t know what I did, ’cause I ain’t no angel.”
In 2020, the Bodak Yellow singer filed for divorce from the Migos rapper, stating in court documents that their relationship was “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for a reconciliation.”
But two months later, Cardi retracted her initial filing and told E! News’ Daily Pop: “Of course we went through some challenges, we had to get to know each other better. But I feel like I’ve never been happier.”
The singer said, “It’s the family, the unity, the friendship that we have, the ‘I have your back, you have my back.’”
The couple share two children together – daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus, 5, and son Wave Set Cephus, 2.
