Zayn Malik cancels gig last minute due to ‘anxiety’

Zayn Malik has pulled out of yet another gig, due to suffering “the worst anxiety of my career”.

The ex 1D star was set to perform at the CapitalFM Summertime Ball at London’s Wembley Arena on Saturday night, but left fans disappointed by cancelling his appearance last minute.

Taking to Instagram, the singer took time to explain his decision by saying, “To all those people who have been waiting to see me perform at the Capital Summertime Ball today…

“I flew into the UK last night to appear in my home country in front of my family, friends and most importantly, my UK fans.

“Unfortunately, my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me…with the magnitude of the event, I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career.”

“I know those who suffer anxiety will understand and I hope those who don’t can empathize with my situation,” he explained.

The rumour mill has since gone into overdrive, with fans suggesting that he was anxious about bumping into his ex fiancée Perrie Edwards, who performed at the event with her band Little Mix.

Zayn has been making a habit of cancelling gigs and appearances since launching his solo career, as he pulled out of The Graham Norton Show back in January, and then cancelled a BBC Radio One interview just minutes before he was scheduled to go on air.

The news comes after it was rumoured that Zayn had split from his supermodel girlfriend Gigi Hadid, however it appears the pair are still very much together after they were spotted in NYC.
