Voice of Ireland star Kelly Mongan has revealed she’s broke – and still living in a caravan.
The Traveller admitted starring on the RTE show hasn’t changed her life, as she can’t afford the equipment needed to gig.
She said:Â “I have lots of requests to sing at weddings, but unfortunately to do so professionally requires expensive equipment which I cannot afford.”
And the 20-year-old – who was the runner up behind Keith Hanley – said she still hasn’t got a record deal.
She added:Â “I have not made a recording and I only had one offer but that didn’t work out as it was with another singer and our voices were not compatible.
“I was very glad to have had Kian Egan as my mentor and I never expected that he would be able to get me a recording contract.
And Kelly – who recently gave birth to eight-month-old baby Bernie – told the Irish Sun she moved from Cork to Galway but is still living on the side of a road.
She added: “We are on the housing list here and are hoping to get our home in the city or a place in a halting site.
“Baby Bernie is a Galway man as he was christened here and we are very happy living here.”
