Tallafornia snapped up by Channel 5 for UK showing

Tallafornia is making the move to Britain – after being bought by Channel 5.

TV3 have signed a deal with the UK station to air the reality show, which has two seasons.

Bosses are expected to start airing the show within coming months – taking on Geordie Shore and The Valleys.

Delighted cast member Marc O’Neill said: “OMG I’m actually going to be really mad famous.” And Phil Penny said: “Finally time to break UK!”

The TV3 show – which first hit Irish screens in 2011 – followed the cast in their native Tallaght before a second series in Santa Ponsa in Spain.

Director of Content Jeff Ford said: “This is the 23rd 3Studios series in as many months to find a home abroad.

“Channel 5’s acquisition of Tallafornia is another example of TV3’s ability to export homeproduced series that appeal locally and internationally.

“One of our main objectives is to expand our reach, not just as a broadcaster but as a major producer of content that appeals on a worldwide scale.”

A number of other TV3 shows have been bought abroad recently, including Animal A&E and 24 Hours To Kill.
