Sile Seoige: 'I don't want to live in fear any more'

Sile Seoige has admitted battling cancer has made her take more risks in life.

The TV presenter battled thyroid cancer in 2012, and has since focused on a music career.

This Christmas she launched a charity single. and now Sile has joined the cast of musical I,Keano – about footballer Roy Keane.

Speaking to Goss.ie Sile said she doesn’t want to live in fear anymore.

“I think in the last few years a lot has probably changed in my live and I kinda went ‘I’d like to be able to not live in fear’ and just give things a go.

“That’s why I did the song at Christmas,” she explained.

“Because before I felt afraid of doing it and I wasn’t comfortable making myself that vulnerable to put myself out there and now I’m saying sure you have to make yourself vulnerable.

Excited to get stuck into her new project, the Galway native revealed she was absolutely thrilled to join the infamous show.

“We did a full read through on Monday and I was so giddy coming in here on Monday morning I felt like a kid.

“It’s a real thrill to do something brand new and I haven’t been on a stage in this capacity since I was in school and that was a few years ago now,” she added.

Meanwhile Sile admitted that Roy Keane could attend the new run of I,Keano along with the Ireland football squad.

“I believe he came along last time and absolutely loved it,” she added.

“There’s good talk that himself and Martin are going to come along and bring the squad – that would be brilliant if they did.”
