RTE releases FIVE new dramas – after success of Charlie

RTE have unveiled five new dramas that will air on the RTE Player.

In association with the Irish Film Board, five new original online shows will be released over the next five weeks.

Beginning today a new drama will be released every Monday, with Burning Wishes up first.

The series is described as a “black comedy about death, friendship and good ol’ fashioned grave-robbing.”

In a promo released today it’s clear the broadcaster went for dramas including Gardaí and high drama, after the success of Love/Hate and most recently Charlie.

David Crean, Executive Producer for RTÉ Television said:

“RTÉ dramas such as Love/Hate, Amber and Charlie demonstrate the insatiable appetite for great Irish drama.

Love/Hate - Series 5 Episode 6

“So we are excited to bring the new season of Storyland to audiences both nationally and internationally through RTÉ Player with five wholly original dramas and comedies for audiences to get engrossed in.”

Close to 200 aspiring and experienced drama production teams pitched their ideas to make a series for Storyland.

Five production companies across Ireland won commissions to create 5 original dramas (4 x 6 minute web episodes) to be shown on RTÉ Player.
