Mick Jagger picks unusual name for his new son

The 73-year-old has eight children

Mick Jagger has picked an unusual name for his new son.

The rocker welcomed his son earlier this month and made him a father again at the age of 73.

The child’s mother, Melanie Hamrick, gave birth to the child on December 8th in New York City.

Elizabeth Jagger, another child of the Rolling Stones frontman, announced on her Instagram account the unusual but meaningful name the couple chose.

“So proud of my beautiful baby brother Deveraux Ocatavian Basil Jagger,” she wrote.

The Instagram account which the post was published on is, however, unverified but the name Basil isn’t that strange to the Jagger family.

Mick’s late father, who passed away in 2006, was named Basil – though he commonly went by the name Joe.

The Brit, who is a great-grandfather, has six other children as well as Lizzy and his one week-old son – Karis, Jade, James, Georgia, Gabriel and Lucas – from previous relationships.
