Kanye West breaks social media silence to explain meeting with Donald Trump

Kanye West has broken his silence on social media, to explain why he met with Donald Trump yesterday.

The rapper caused controversy when he showed up to Trump Tower in NYC for a meeting with the president-elect, where they posed for pictures in front of reporters.

After Trump told the crowd that the pair have been “friends for a long time”, Kanye took to Twitter to explain why the two met.

“I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues,” he wrote.

“These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change,” he continued.

The Life of Pablo rapper then simply ended his explanation with the hashtag #2024.

Kanye has not posted anything on Twitter since he shared his wife Kim Kardashian’s birthday present – a video montage of her life, which included touching footage of her late father Robert Kardashian.

The star caused controversy recently as he was hospitalised after an alleged “psychotic break”.

Following Kim Kardashian’s robbery back in October and Kanye’s hospitalisation last month, the pair were rumoured to be headed towards divorce, however, Kim’s friend Jonathan Cheban quickly put those rumours to bed.
