Justin Timberlake SCOLDED after posting voting booth selfie

Justin Timberlake has landed himself in hot water after posting a selfie in a voting booth.

The 35-year-old actor posted a snap to Instagram, encouraging his fans to vote in the upcoming election.

The singer returned to his home state of Tennessee to vote, not realising that a law came into force earlier this year which makes it illegal to take photos or shoot videos in a polling station.

The minor crime is punishable by 30 days in jail or a $50 fine, but sometimes both.

An earlier statement was made which made reference to Justin being investigated by the D.A, but it has come to light that this was untrue.

Tuesday afternoon, a second statement from D.A. Amy Weirich said: “The statement released earlier today by my office regarding Justin Timberlake and an investigation was incorrect and was released without my knowledge.

“I am out of town at a conference. No one in our office is currently investigating this matter nor will we be using our limited resources to do so.”

Lucky Justin!
