Harry Styles appears to star in first poster for upcoming film Dunkirk

Harry Styles appears to star in the first poster for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming war flick, Dunkirk.

The 1D star shocked fans this year when he landed a role in the movie, which saw the singer move away from his music career to pursue acting.

The first poster for the film sees a man standing with his back to the camera, looking over the shore of Dunkirk in the middle of a battle.

Since the poster’s release, fans are speculating that the man looks very similar to Harry, despite having his back to the camera, which could mean that the singer has a major role in the movie.

Harry filmed the movie alongside a-list actors including Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Mark Rylance – however, details of his character have not yet been announced, apart from the fact that his name will be Tommy.

Controversy has surrounded Dunkirk ever since the 1D star’s casting was announced – but, his Irish cast mate Cillian Murphy previously defended Christopher Nolan’s decision.

“You know, Chris Nolan’s not going to cast an actor unless he’s a talented person so I’m sure he’ll be amazing,” he said in a video posted by USA Today.

“He’s a great kid, I’ve really enjoyed working with him. I’ve not actually done any acting scenes with him, but I think there’s a definite cross over between music and film.

“I actually come from that world myself, and he’s a really, really lovely kid and very charismatic and we’ve had great fun,” he added.

22-year-old Harry cut off his iconic long locks to take on the role, and donated his hair to the wig-making charity Little Princess Trust.
