Gigi Hadid has revealed her struggle with Hashimoto’s disease – a condition in which your immune system attacks your thyroid.
The model is one of the biggest catwalk stars and recently won Model Of The Year at the British Fashion Words.
“My metabolism actually changed like crazy this year. I have Hashimoto’s disease. It’s a thyroid disease,” she said.

Hashimoto’s disease can leave the sufferer feeling fatigue and sluggish but can also have a great affect on their weight.
“It’s now been two years since taking the medication for it, so for the [Victoria’s Secret] show I didn’t want to lose any more weight,” she told Elle magazine.
“I just want to have muscles in the right place, and if my butt can get a little perkier, then that’s good.”
Working out: The model exercises every day to keep herself fit | INSTAGRAM
The American doesn’t let her disease bother her and still tries to keep fit by working out every day.
“I put a sticky note in my kitchen that just said ‘squats’ and every time I walked past the squat sticky note I had to do 15 squats.
“It’s a good trick because you have to have integrity with yourself. No one else is watching but you’re like, ‘Okay, I have to do this for myself,’ which is important,” she added.
