Dwayne Johnson has been named as the world’s highest paid actor.
It has been revealed that the former wrestler raked in an estimated $64.5 million in the past year, having starred in blockbuster hit Central Intelligence as well as upcoming films Fast 8 and Baywatch.
The list, released by Forbes, saw Robert Downey Jr knocked out of first place after being named the highest paid actor three years in a row.

The Rock was clearly delighted with the news, and informed his 10 million followers on Twitter that he started out with just $7 to his name.
“Want to say two things about this. I started w/ $7 bucks. If I can overcome, so can you. Waffle House on me!!” he wrote.
The 44-year-old also took the time to tweet his fans, thanking them for their support.

Coming in second on the list was Jackie Chan ($61mill), which was followed by Matt Damon ($55mill), Tom Cruise ($53mill) and Johnny Depp ($48mill).
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence was named as the highest paid actress, having earned $46 million over the past year – which is sure to raise eyebrows in Hollywood.
The issue of male actors being paid significantly more than females has been a hot topic in the film industry as of late – and the latest Forbes list shows that the top five highest paid actors in Hollywood were ALLÂ paid more than the highest paid actress.
