Cheryl Tweedy is secretly dating an Irish businessman, according to reports.
After splitting from Liam Payne, who she shares son Bear with, the former X Factor judge has reportedly moved on with an Irish man.
The news comes after Cheryl jetted into Dublin last week, to film a cameo appearance in an upcoming children’s movie.Â
A source close to the singer told the Daily Mirror, “Cheryl has no intentions of taking a break from romance. She really hates being on her own. There is already a hot contender for her affections which Cheryl has been very coy about.”
“All she says is he is Irish and successful – but not in the music business,” the source continued.
“Cheryl has a very small close circle of trusted friends and only a few of those know there is ‘someone special’ helping to console her through the split. It’s not yet a full-on relationship but it’s definitely moving more from the friendship zone to the partner zone.
“Cheryl’s had him over for coffee dates and they constantly talk on the phone and WhatsApp. He’s been a real source of strength and support to a woman who has been through a lot.”
The source explained, “Unlike Liam he’s a bit older than Cheryl and they got introduced through a mutual friend a couple of months back. He’s definitely made a big effort to be there for her and she’s enjoying the attention.”
“The most important thing to Cheryl is that she’s given space by any potential new man to process the whole Liam thing and also concentrate on Bear.
“It seems this guy is doing just that and the thing Cheryl really likes about him is he has no showbiz baggage and doesn’t have a string of past relationships that were all over the press.”
Although Cheryl is said to be smitten with her mystery man, she wants to take things slow as they get to know each other better.
“It’s not like the split [with Liam] has hit either of them suddenly and Cheryl just feels at her age and because she’s now a single mum she shouldn’t feel guilty about having a bit of fun with the right guy.
“But with everything that’s happened with Liam she wants to give this a bit of time under the radar before she really commits to anything more at this stage,” the source added.
