Carrie Fisher: ‘Harrison Ford is bugged that I revealed our affair’

The actress was romantically involved with the American while they filmed Star Wars

Carrie Fisher has said that Harrison Ford is probably “bugged” that she revealed their affair.

The actress uncovered her old diaries from when she starred in the Star Wars original films, in which she details her romance with the actor, and is set to publish them.

“He is incredibly private and I am sure the whole thing bugged him but he comes out of it well. I liked him,” she said.

The couple’s affair only happened while they were away filming for the film and explains their intense chemistry onscreen.

“I waited 40 years! It’s an old story. I told him, ‘I’ve found the diaries I kept during the first Star Wars and I’m thinking of publishing them,'” she told Graham Norton on his BBC show.

“He joked about sending for a lawyer so he was aware of them, and I told him that if there was anything he didn’t like he should let me know.

“I sent them to him and waited for him to get back to me.”

Carrie also revealed that she had no idea how interested people would be in her secret affair – and set some facts straight.

“I had no idea it would cause such a sensation. 400,000 news sites picked up on it and it became a little embarrassing. They made a lot of things up which I’ve now had to talk about – I never said he was bad in bed!

“I had forgotten I had written them. They saddened me because I didn’t recall that I was so insecure but I do sound like a 19-year-old girl who’s having an affair with a 34-year-old man.

“I haven’t altered them at all but wanted to take stuff out of the book, I should have taken stuff out.”
