Caroline Flack reportedly steps down as host of Love Island

It comes following her arrest last week

Caroline Flack has reportedly stepped down as host of ITV show Love Island.

MailOnline have reported that the 40-year-old is “devastated” as she decided to step down from the presenting job.

Caroline was arrested at her home in Islington, London in the early hours of December 12th.

Metropolitan Police reported that the star was arrested and charged with assault by beating.

The incident involved a man, believed to be Caroline’s 27-year-old boyfriend Lewis Burton.

The former tennis player showed support for his girlfriend, taking to Instagram last night to defend her, calling her “the most lovely girl.”

Caroline is set to appear in court next Monday, December 23rd as she is currently out on bail.

Maura Higgins was tipped to replace her as host of the show, however, her boyfriend Curtis Pritchard rubbished the rumours on a breakfast radio show this morning.

Caroline was set to fly to South Africa on January 1st to begin filming the new series.

ITV have yet to confirm who will take over the job.
