Amber Heard taking ex Johnny Depp to court over ‘unpaid’ $7 million divorce settlement

Amber Heard is set to take her ex-husband Johnny Depp to court, as he is yet to hand over her $7 million divorce settlement.

The exes were embroiled in a nasty three-month divorce battle after the actress accused Johnny of abusing her throughout their 15-month marriage.

Finally in August, the former couple came to an agreement that Johnny would pay out a $7 million settlement to Amber, which the 30-year-old actress planned on donating to two charities, the American Civil Liberties Union’s (ACLU) domestic violence unit and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

However, organisation officials revealed last month that they had not received any money since Johnny sent an initial cheque of $200,000.

Amber’s lawyer Pierce O’Donnell has now claimed that their final divorce papers were due to be signed by both Amber and Johnny by December 4 in order for the rest of the money to be paid to the charities.

The actress filed a Request for Order at Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday.

In documents obtained by People, Amber’s attorney claims that Johnny has ignored the court-ordered payment deadline, as well as other orders regarding the division of personal property.

Her attorney also alleges that the actor has ignored mandates regarding the shipment of her belongings from his home in the Bahamas, and the transfer of a Range Rover into Amber’s name.

The actress has also asked that Johnny pay her legal fees of $35,435.
