Zara McDermott reveals the REAL reason behind Adam Collard and Ferne McCann’s NTAs bust-up

The Love Island star has explained the situation to fans

Zara McDermott has revealed the real reason behind her boyfriend Adam Collard’s massive bust-up with Ferne McCann at the NTAs.

Just hours after Ferne accused Adam of insulting her and her baby daughter, Zara took to her Instagram Story to explain the situation in full.

The 22-year-old got candid with her followers, as she revealed that her feud with Ferne started at The Pride of Britain Awards last October.

She said, “So some people may not know that me and Ferne had a previous run-in at the Pride Of Britain Awards where I commented about her and Charlie [Brake].”

“But, at the time I was only commenting on something that I thought to be true and didn’t think that comment would upset her because I thought that it was just the truth.”

She continued, “Then shortly after, Ferne confronted me at The Pride Of Britain Awards and it was a very tense situation. It was in front of a lot of people and I found it really embarrassing and really intimidating to the point where I actually left the awards crying because it made me that upset.”

“So I left those awards obviously upset that I wasn’t able to enjoy the ceremony and see all those amazing people, but also I understand that she was obviously frustrated with my comments so I thought, ‘this is it, I have let her say her piece, I will take it on the chin and we will all move on.'”

Zara explained, “I’d drawn a line under it and she clearly hadn’t and fast forward three months I am still feeling increasingly uncomfortable being around her at events and obviously I am purposely avoiding being in contact with her.”

“It was towards the end of the night we were going down to the after party that one of her friends approached me, just being friendly, saying hello and introducing herself like you do with all these people at these events.

“At this point, I didn’t even know that they were friends or that this was one of her friends, but she started shouting abuse from behind me saying to her friend that she’s not allowed to talk to me, that I’m a snake and just shouting a fair amount of abuse my way.”

As Zara attempted to walk away from the situation, Adam stepped in to defend her.

“My boyfriend just turned around and just said to her stop bullying,” Zara said. “He did say something that I personally don’t agree with saying that he has apologised for.”

“It was literally within seconds of my boyfriend turning around and just standing up for me, no comments about Ferne’s daughter were made, that Ferne threw alcohol in his eyes and then threw the container at his face and it hit his right eye.”

Zara concluded, “Now I think we’re at a point where we can all admit what we’ve done. I’ve admitted what I’ve done that frustrated Ferne, Adam’s admitted what he’s done.

“But now Ferne’s in a position where she is almost trying to justify turning physical and violent on someone and making up lies to excuse that and I think that’s unbelievably wrong.”
