A woman falsely linked to David Beckham, amid rumours that he was set to split from his wife Victoria, has claimed that she’s never even met the footballer.
On Friday, rumours were rife that Posh and Becks were set to announce their plans to divorce after 19 years of marriage.
With rumours swirling on social media, a woman’s name and picture were shared online – and fans were led to believe that she was the reason behind David and Victoria’s rumoured split.
However, the woman’s father has since told The Sun on Sunday, “My daughter has never even met him. End of story.”
“This is ridiculous. We have no idea where it has come from. She is a very pretty, attractive girl and been linked to it by fake news.
“She lives very happily with her boyfriend. She was here last weekend, and up until Friday night her life was pretty normal.”
He admitted that David had visited his daughter’s workplace, but said that they’d never spoken.
He also revealed that his daughter’s employers have drafted in lawyers over the claims.
The woman has been forced to suspend her social media accounts since the false claims emerged.
Meanwhile, David and Victoria cooly denied the divorce claims, as their spokesperson stated, “There’s no statement due, no divorce, and a lot of Chinese whispers and fake social media news.
“This is all very bizarre and an embarrassing waste of time.”
