Nicola Adams has made Strictly Come Dancing history with the show’s first same sex performance.
The hit dance series returned to our screens on Saturday night, with the Olympian boxer taking to the dance floor with professional dancer Katya Jones.
The pair danced the quickstep to Get Happy by Ella Fitzgerald, with the judges scoring them an impressive 21 points out of a possible 30.
Following the historic performance, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the routine – praising the duo.
One user tweeted: “seeing nicola and katya on strictly was a beautiful and inspiring moment tonight. i feel so seen.”

YouTube star HRVY topped the leaderboard on last night’s show with 25 points, with EastEnders star Maisie Smith in second place with 24 points.
At the bottom of the leaderboard, Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing scored just 14 points, while politician Jacqui Smith scored only 13.
Earlier this week, HRVY and Maisie sparked romance rumours after leaving flirty comments on social media.
