Vicky Pattison has defended her own fitness DVD, amid the controversy surrounding celebrity work out DVDs.
A host of reality stars, including Scarlett Moffatt and Lauren Goodger, have been accused of lying to fans in order to sell their respective fitness DVDs, amid claims that they actually lost weight due to “starvation and dangerous methods”.
However, Vicky has now publicly defended her own DVD, and insisted that she’s always been honest with her fans.
The former Geordie Shore star appeared on ITV’s Lorraine this week to discuss the controversy.
Vicky said, “Like anyone who wants to lose weight, whether in public eye or not, you’re going to have to lower calorie intake to do that.”
The reality star admitted, “So yes, I did go on a diet but it wasn’t anything ludicrous or wacky, I was just making more conscious decisions.”
The news comes amid reports that the likes of Lauren Goodger and Scarlett Moffatt achieved their slimmer figures by attending a bootcamp where they starved themselves.
Vicky was asked by Lorraine what she thought about Scarlett Moffatt and Lauren Goodger’s DVDs, but the reality star didn’t want to discuss it.
“It’s a complicated subjective and everyone is different. I’m not here to talk about anyone else’s journeys.”
“One thing about DVDs is that they give an amazing entry point into fitness and health regimes for women who are maybe a little bit scared of the gym, or don’t know how. So for that I think they can be good, but you’ve got to be honest.”
