TOWIE star James Lock has revealed he reached out to his ex-girlfriend Yazmin Oukhellou after she was in a horrific car crash which killed her on-off boyfriend Jake McLean.
The couple had been driving in Bodrum, Turkey on July 3, when their car crashed 70ft over a hill, killing Jake and leaving Yazmin seriously injured.
James has said that his former flame will “always have a place in his heart” and he wanted to check on her following the tragic incident.
James, who dated Yazmin on and off for four years, said: “I don’t think anyone can contemplate what she’s going through but I’m here for her always if she ever needs me.”
“I spoke to some of her friends, and some of her family, and I let them know that I’m here. She’s got her friends and family around her and she’s in as good a place as she can be at the minute.”
The TOWIE star also referenced that Yazmin had to snap her own arm to free herself from the car wreck, adding: “Yaz still has her arm, so that’s the main thing.”
James refused to rule out reuniting with Yazmin, saying: “I can’t say. We’ve been through a lot together, and she will always be there for me, and I’ll always be there for her.”
The former couple were last officially dating back in February 2021, but were seen having lunch together in April this year.
Yazmin broke her silence on the fatal crash on August 16, to pay tribute to Jake on the day of his funeral.
Sharing a photo of herself and Jake on Instagram, Yazmin wrote: “I have been taking some time away from social media to fully focus on my mental and physical recovery. I needed this time away to work on healing and processing everything as best as I can.”
“This has taught me that life is so short and we must cherish our loved ones as much as possible.”
“I am so grateful for our memories and the special time that Jake and I shared. I’ve not stopped thinking about him and I’ll miss him always. He will forever hold a special place in my heart 🙏🤍👼.”
The 28-year-old concluded the heartfelt message, “I want to thank everyone for their support and lovely messages. I truly appreciate each and every single one of you 🙏. Love Yaz 🤍.”
