Strictly Come Dancing’s semi-final line-up confirmed as another celeb is voted off the show

BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker has become the latest star to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing.

The presenter and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova faced AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington in Sunday night’s dance off, and were sent home after the judges unanimously decided to save AJ and Kai.

Speaking on his exit Dan said: “By the way, I would have saved AJ and Kai as well! The last 11 weeks have been absolutely amazing, I’ve genuinely loved every second of it.”

Paying tribute to his dance partner, Dan said: “When I go back to the first day when I was asked to dance in front of some glitter balls, at that point, if there had been a fire exit, I’d have just walked away but this amazing woman grabbed me by the hand, and brought me out onto this dance floor.”

“I’m not a dancer, but she showed me that I can dance, and that for me, this has been an absolutely incredible experience.”

Dan and Nadiya narrowly missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the show, which take place this weekend.

This year’s semi-finalists are: John Whaite and Johannes Radebe, Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice, Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu, and AJ and Kai.

Dan said of the remaining stars: “The four [couples] left are so good, as you say, the standard has been amazing. It’s been a pleasure for me to watch them dance each week, and thank you to all the pros for being so kind, caring and encouraging.”

“Plus, everyone who works on this programme. It’s a pleasure to be a part of a show that means so much to so many people.”

The Gosscast is back with a brand new episode, sponsored by Irish-owned CBD company Greenheart CBD.

Hosted by Goss.ie Founder Alexandra Ryan and Goss.ie Editor Kendra Becker, the girls discuss how 2021 has become the year of redemption for some of our favourite noughties icons.

They also chat about the Bennifer reunion, Avril Lavigne’s comeback, and what fashion pieces they’re seeing back in style.
