A convicted killer who “terrified” Cheryl by constantly showing up at her home has been jailed.
Daniel Bannister admitted to going to the Girl’s Aloud singer’s Buckinghamshire home in the UK and ringing the bell at the gate in December last year.
This took place while he was forbidden for doing so by a restraining order.

According to court documents, Daniel had twice turned up at her home last year before facing the of order.
In January 2024, he pressed the the intercom at the gate of her home and claimed he had “come to get Cheryl.”
In July of the same year the stalker again called to the house and said “I’m really thirsty, I just want a glass of wine please.”
District Judge Arvind Sharma of the Wycombe Magistrates’ Court sentenced the 50-year-old to 16 weeks in prison as Cheryl was “very distressed and upset” by his recurring actions.

The singer told police she “immediately panicked” when she spotted him outside her home yet again.
“I knew this was Daniel because I have had previous incidents where Daniel has come to my property. I was concerned he was looking for a way into the property,” she told authorities at the time
She also explained that her son was on the way back from the cinema and did not want him to come in contact with the stalker.
“I want to protect my child from any harm,” said Cheryl.

The 41-year-old shared her son, Bear, with the late Liam Payne – who passed away in October of last year.
As reported by The Sun, Daniel previously killed 48-year-old Rajendra Patel in an attack at a south London YMCA shelter in 2012 and pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
On Monday, he was sentenced for two counts of harassment relating to abusing the restraining order and one count of attempting to breach a restraining order.
