Stacey Solomon has revealed the sweet hidden meaning behind her daughter Rose’s full name.
The Loose Women star welcomed a daughter with her fiancé Joe Swash earlier this month, and the couple named her Rose Opal Solomon Esmè Swash.
During a Q&A on Instagram on Friday night, the 32-year-old explained why her name “couldn’t be more perfect”.
Posting a photo of a pink rose from her newborn’s baby’s mobile, Stacey admitted they originally picked the name Autumn before settling on Rose.
She wrote: “We loved Autumn but the initials didn’t work and then every evening after she was born, the sun goes down right outside her window, so I’d watch it set from in there and it always shined on her mobile and lit up the rose.”
“That’s when we knew she was our Rose.”
Explaining the meaning behind Rose’s full name, Stacey continued: “Opal – because I still can’t believe she was born on my birthday, so we had to have our birthstone in there”
“Esmè– because we wanted a name with ‘E’ so her initials would spell out ROSES and Esme means loved, so we thought it couldn’t be more perfect.”
On top of it being Rose and Stacey’s birthstone, the opal is incredibly meaningful to her and Joe.
Last Christmas, the former EastEnders star proposed to Stacey with an engagement ring that featured two Australian opals.
The gemstones signify where they “fell in love”, as the pair met when Stacey won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here back in 2010.
Joe was hosting the I’m A Celeb after-show in Australia at the time.
Stacey and Joe, who got engaged last Christmas, are already parents to a son named Rex – who was born on May 23, 2019.
The former X Factor star is also mum to Leighton and Zachary from previous relationships, while Joe shares 13-year-old son Harry with his ex Emma Sophocleous.
