Rylan Clark-Neal returns to social media after confirming split from husband

Rylan Clark-Neal has returned to social media after confirming his split from his husband Dan.

The former X Factor contestant was noticeably absent from his Twitter, Instagram and BBC Radio 2 show in recent weeks, before news broke that he and Dan had called it quits after six-years of marriage.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the presenter paid tribute to his nephew on his 21st birthday.

Sharing a snap of a birthday cake, as well as a picture of himself and his nephew enjoying a meal out, Rylan wrote: “Happy 21st birthday weekend, Harvey.”

“Can’t believe my little newphew is not so little anymore!”

Rylan confirmed his split with Dan earlier this month, telling The Sun: “Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out – as the way it is being reported is unfair.”

“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage. I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.”

“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time,” he added.

Rylan and Dan met in 2013, and the couple married two years later.

Thanking his fans for their support, Rylan wrote: “I just wanted to write a message to thank you all for the love and kindness you have showed us.”

“We are currently prioritising our mental health and looking after the ones around us we love most.”

“I am working towards getting back to the jobs I love in due course. Thank you for being patient with me,” he added.
