This time next week Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be enjoying their first full day together as a married couple and the Queen has officially consented to their matrimony.
The Instrument of Consent is a royal document which records her Majesty’s consent to the marriage of her grandson to former Suits actress, Meghan.
Emily Nash , a royal expert, described the document as, “Handwritten and illuminated on vellum.” Vellum is only used for important state documents.
The imagery is also significant she explains, “It shows a red dragon, rose, thistle and shamrock for the UK, plus a rose for the US and golden poppies for California.”
