Queen Elizabeth II is “delighted” over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby news.

The couple announced that they are expecting their first royal baby this morning, conceived just ten weeks after they got married on May 19.

According to MailOnline, Harry and Meghan told the Queen their happy news during Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle on Friday.

The happy couple, who are set to welcome their first child next April, landed in Sydney today to start their three-week tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.

Meghan, 37, is said to be in “good health” and has had a successful 12 week scan.

Announcing their baby news, Kensington Palace said: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.”

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

In a joint statement with Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh have said they are “delighted for the couple”.
