Prince William has welcomed his brother Prince Harry “to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting”.

Speaking in Germany this afternoon, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spoke about the royal family’s newest arrival for the first time.

In a video posted by The Sun’s royal correspondent Emily Andrews, William said: “We couldn’t be more delighted at the news and we’re looking forward to meeting the baby when we return.”

“Absolutely thrilled. I’m looking forward to seeing them when things have quietened down.”

“I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting,” he laughed.

Kate added: “As William said, we’re looking forward to meeting him and finding out what his name’s going to be so so it’s really exciting for both of them and we wish them all the best.”

“These next few weeks are always a bit daunting the first time round so we wish them all the best.”

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle welcomed their baby boy in the early hours of Monday morning, and it’s believed the Duchess gave birth at a London hospital.
