Prince Harry and Meghan Markle subtly honoured Princess Diana in their wedding photos

The couple made sure Harry's late mother was involved in every aspect of their big day

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle honoured Harry’s late mother Princess Diana in so many ways on the day of their wedding.

The couple’s official wedding photos were released yesterday by Kensington Palace, and the images featured something very special, that some people may not have noticed.

In the second photo released by the palace, Harry and Meghan are pictured with their page boys and bridesmaids, including Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The picture was taken in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle, and while Meghan sits on the floor, Harry sits on an emerald green couch – which may look familiar.

It was the same couch Princess Diana was photographed sitting on while holding baby Harry at his christening back in 1984.

Harry also honoured his late mother by picking flowers for Meghan’s wedding bouquet from their private garden at Kensington Palace, making sure to include Diana’s favourite flowers – Forget-Me-Nots.

Following their wedding ceremony, the couple were pictured on their way to their eveing reception – and Meghan was spotted wearing an emerald cut aquamarine ring, which once belonged to Diana.
