Richard Madeley has addressed rumours that he is set to appear on the upcoming season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The Good Morning Britain presenter was linked to the line-up last week, after reportedly signing a £200k deal with the ITV show.
The 65-year-old hinted at a stint on the show as he returned to GMB with Susanna Reid on Monday morning.
Richard said: “I’m with you now for a solid month so I’m sorry.”
Susanna then asked him: “Are you doing anything in a month’s time Richard? That means you can’t stay with us for more than a month?”
“She’s referring to I’m a Celebrity,” Richard explained. “I’m asked this every year, actually, well mostly – they ask me to do it.”
“I usually give them an equivocal reply and I’ve checked with ITV what they want me to say about this because I may be going in or I may not be going in.”
Richard continued: “Well, I checked with ITV and what they said it this; basically quite a few ‘names’ are linked to the programme at this point each year.”
Speaking on other rumored contestants he said: “Adam [Woodyatt] from Eastenders has been tipped, Arlene Philips has been tipped.”
“ITV quite like its people not to confirm or deny because I could be a hare that’s running the race or I could not be, I could be a distraction and that, I’m afraid, is where I have to leave it,” he said.
The reality show will be filmed in Wales again this year after Covid-19 restrictions prevented the crew returning to the Australian jungle this year.
