Phoebe Dynevor has addressed Regé-Jean Page romance rumours.
The actors star as love interests Daphne Bridgerton Simon, Duke of Hastings in the Netflix series Bridgerton, and act out many steamy sex scenes together.
Fans have speculated whether the on-screen couple also fell in love off-screen, but Phoebe has since shut down the rumours.
Speaking to You magazine, the 25-year-old said: “I’d love to say there was really something between us, but no. It has always been strictly professional.”
“There was so much pressure on us to get it right that it was all about the work. We have a really professional working relationship,” she explained.
“I’m glad for that, actually. It would be very complicated if it went further.”
The actress noted that while she “always hears” of co-stars falling in love, it’s “yet to happen” to her, adding: “But I’m intrigued.”
“People really root for us. We have to say we’re actors, we’re doing a job, there is something to be said for not spoiling the magic. But at a certain point, you have to say ‘no.'”
The news come after The Mail On Sunday reported that Regé-Jean is dating footballer and writer Emily Brown, after they were spotted embracing in North London.
Last month, the actor laughed off the speculation that he was dating Phoebe, telling Access Hollywood: “I think that everything you need to know is on camera.”
“All the sparks that flew came off the beautiful scripts we were handed. So I think that the sparky words, scripts and material are more than enough,” he added.
