Pete Wicks has poked fun at Sam Thompson “crying” over his split from ex Zara McDermott.
The pair reportedly split last month after five years together.
The reality TV couple confirmed their romance in May 2019 and went Instagram official the following month.
In July, it was reported that the pair were in “crisis relationship talks” – but seemed to sort the issues out.
Now, on their Staying Relevant podcast Pete and Sam discussed the former couple’s appearance on Michael McIntyre ‘s Big Show and the Midnight Gameshow skit.
The show, which feature a still-together Sam and Zara, aired just weeks after their breakup.
Pete said on the podcast: “We’re going to talk through our staying relevant moments from the week.”
“Sam’s has mostly consisted of crying but there has been other things that have happened,” he joked.
“So should we start with your staying relevant moments? That’s why he’s wearing the glasses actually.”
Sam confessed: “It’s been one hell of a week. It happened a while ago that we filmed this as you can probably tell by watching it.”
The former Towie star added: “Why?” with his best friend explaining: “Just happened a while ago and there were two people in the bed and…f***. I’ve got a dry mouth, I’ve really panicked and I don’t know why.”
On New Year’s day, The Daily Mail reported that Sam and Zara have decided to end their relationship after growing apart.
A source close to the couple told MailOnline: “Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and have a lot of love for each other.”
“But after a tough year of working hard at their romance, they have split and will be focusing on their individual careers going forward into 2025.”
“There has been no scandal or fallout between them, it’s just the result of a difficult year, where they both had to spend a lot of time focused on their own projects.”
