Original Sugababes Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy took a brutal swipe at former bandmates following their reunion tour announcement.
During their appearance on Will Manning’s Capital Breakfast yesterday, Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan, and Siobhán Donaghy revealed a number of revelations about the band.
Will asked: “You three are the OG Sugababes, but out of all the versions, which one do you think was the best?”

“The first one,” Mutya responded.
Siobhán then said: “I think the thing is we started it when we were young teenagers, and I think there’ll always be something about the Sugababes that is this for us.”
“It’s where it started and it is the essence of what it is.”
Mutya added: “It’s our baby.”
In 1998, the Sugababes were founded, and consisted of Keisha, Mutya, and Siobhan.
Heidi Range joined the group when Siobhan Donaghy left in 2001.
Mutya Buena left in 2005, and Amelle Berrabah came on board.

Jade Ewen joined the group in 2009 when Keisha Buchanan left.
Over time, the Sugababes released songs with various lineups.
However, in 2012, the original trio reunited.
Over the years, there have been several conflicts between the original band members and the more recent additions.
When all members, current and former, planned to tour under the Sugababes name in March 2024, there was a significant argument.
While Heidi and Amelle, two former members, were in negotiations to start their own tour and wanted to call themselves Sugababes, the original members planned a tour under the name Sugababes.
An industry source told The Sun: “Heidi and Amelle have been approached about doing a tour as alternative Sugababes and their first call would be fellow ex-member Jade Ewen.”
“There’s a huge appetite for the Noughties and Heidi and Amelle can offer fans something very different to the original line-up.”
“The original trio are furious that the others want to try and use the name as they feel it’s theirs.”
Back in February, The Sugababes won a gong at the Mobo Awards in February, but Heidi’s mother, Karen, took offence when her daughter was not mentioned in the nomination video.
She wrote on Instagram: “I can’t believe the cheek of it. Sugababes didn’t have a hit till Heidi joined. It is so false and disrespectful the way they are carrying on.”
Original band member Mutya hit back writing: “When I wasn’t in the group and the girls was doing big things without me, do you think I was getting upset about not being mentioned?”
