One Direction’s former hairstylist Lou Teasdale thanks the band for helping her buy a house

Today marks the band's 10-year anniversary

One Direction’s former hairstylist Lou Teasdale has thanked the band for helping her buy a house.

The 35-year-old took to Instagram to pay tribute to One Direction today, ten years after they were first formed on The X Factor.

Lou worked as the band’s primary hair stylist/makeup artist for years, and travelled the world with them until they went on indefinite hiatus in 2016.

Posting photos and videos of their time together on Instagram, Lou wrote: “Happy 10 years to those boys who gave me the time of our lives, the ability to buy my own house, all of these lovely followers and so many life long friends.”

“Love to all of you and thank you from me & Lux, we really are very lucky ???? (slide for mems) #10yearsof1d,” she added.

Lou’s video montage included photos of the band members with her daughter Lux, who she brought on the road with them.

The hairstylist, who was close friends with the late Caroline Flack, is still pals with the band mates – and regularly hangs out with Harry Styles.

One Direction will celebrate their 10 year anniversary today by launching a brand new 1D anniversary website.

Fans were hoping the original five piece, including Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, would reunite for the occasion.

However, the coronavirus pandemic ruined any potential plans for the former bandmates to meet up for a reunion special.

Instead, a special ‘10 Years of One Direction’ website will launch today (July 23rd), which will be an immersive and exciting interactive fan experience.

The site will take the form of a timeline charting the history of the group, from the first audition right up to the start of their hiatus.

It will also host an archive of music videos, artwork, TV performances, behind-the-scenes and rarely-seen content, all in one place.

Fans will also be able to generate their own shareable ‘mixtape’ playlist on the site, which will be personalised according to how they’ve interacted with the site’s content and the eras they’ve spent the most time exploring.

It will also allow fans to connect to Spotify or Apple Music, with the mixtape playlists being saved to their respective accounts.

A brand new anniversary celebration video for YouTube will also be released on July 23rd.

The video will document highlights of the band’s career, from forming on The X Factor to releasing their single ‘History’, including clips from music videos, performances and candid behind the scenes video content.

Reformatted EPs will be released across streaming platforms, featuring b-sides and rare songs, remixes, live recordings and acoustic versions of tracks grouped into one place for fans to rediscover.

There will also be exciting activations across Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and other platforms, including creating and updating One Direction playlists, whilst Amazon’s Alexa will be singing Happy Birthday to the band.

The news comes after One Direction sparked rumours they were set to reunite for their 10th anniversary.

Rumours started swirling back in March, when bandmates Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson re-followed ex member Zayn Malik.

Zayn famously quit the band back in 2015, and severed ties with all four of his bandmates.

One year later, One Direction went on “hiatus”, and all members have since launched their own solo careers.
