One Direction has reportedly “made a huge decision about reuniting at the BRIT Award” to pay tribute to the late Liam Payne.
The former One Direction tragically died in Argentina, aged 31.
Police officials in Buenos Aires confirmed the 31-year-old died after falling from the third floor of a hotel on Wednesday evening at around 5pm.
Following a sweet tribute to the star at the Grammys, rumours circulated that One Direction members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik would reunite at the BRITS.
However, the group have reportedly turned down the opportunity.
Sources told The Sun, that the four have all decided against the idea.
An insider said: “It has been a really emotional time for the lads and it was decided it would just be too much.”
“They have grieved in private and don’t feel the need to do a big, showy tribute for the sake of it.”
“Millions of fans will be disappointed not to see them back on stage together but the time is just not right,” the source continued.
“Apart from anything else, Zayn lives in America now and they are all at different places in life. A One Direction reunion is not on the cards at all.”
The decision comes after Kate Cassidy, Liam’s girlfriend at the time of his death, told The Sun of Liam’s desire to reunite with his One Direction “brothers.”
She told The Sun: “Liam loved One Direction. It was such a huge part of his life and career. Who didn’t love them?”
“I think everybody had hopes for a reunion at some point. Liam would have been more than happy in the future to do that.”
“He was so proud of the boys. He loved them so much he looked at them as brothers. It’s so heartbreaking that the fans will never get to see all five boys back on stage together.”
“2030 would have marked 20 years since they first got together and it’s so sad that Liam will never get to relive those memories,” she confessed.
