Olly Murs cancels gigs with only a few hours notice after walking off stage the night before

Olly Murs has cancelled his gigs in Birmingham and Manchester after being struck down with illness, giving only a few hours notice as he was meant to take the stage this evening for his 15 Years Of Hits – Live 2025 tour.

The singer, who called off his Glasgow show on Thursday after performing for only 20 minutes, revealed he has a respiratory infection.

Taking to Instagram to share of selfie of himself looking sad with a thumbs down, the 41-year-old wrote, “Never expected to be writing this today 😞”

He continued: “To everyone in Glasgow last night, I want to start by saying sorry. What happened last night has never happened to me before and I’m truly gutted and upset about it.”

“In 15years I’ve never had to leave the stage after 30minutes into a show, but my voice was failing me. I was panicking and worrying on what to do which gave me no choice but to address it. The thought of upsetting people and letting you the fans down has hit me hard today.”

“Speaking in front of you last night and seeing people upset was hard to see but from the bottom of my heart I’m sorry but I had to put my health first x. To everyone in Manchester and Birmingham I’m deeply sorry but I am unfortunately going to have to cancel my shows there this weekend.”

“I have contracted a respiratory infection and have been instructed to go on a strict 48 hour voice rest by the doctor to ensure no further damage to my vocal chords.”

“I’ve been having the best time on this tour and I’m so sorry to let my fans down, I’m hoping to be fighting fit in a few days to finish this amazing 15 year celebratory tour with a bang. All fans will be refunded directly from their point of purchase. This will happen automatically over the next week. X”

“Sorry again for this, I love you guys and I think anyone that knows me knows how much I love being on stage and performing. I’m hurting big time,” he concluded.

On Thursday night, the Troublemaker singer left fans devastated as he left the Ovo Hydro venue after just six songs into his set.

He took to his Instagram story to apologise to fans in attendance at the show “from the bottom of my heart.”

He said: “I’ve never done this in 15 years. Most of the time, as singers, you can get through it if your voice is not 100%.”

“I walked out tonight thinking my voice is great, maybe felt a little bit run down. But I didn’t think I couldn’t do the show or I wouldn’t have come out otherwise.”

The former X Factor contestant revealed that he was going to see a doctor later that evening ahead of his upcoming shows in Manchester, Birmingham, and London.

“It’s unfair for you guys who spent all that money to come and see me, you deserve the best show. Hopefully, I can recover from this,” concluded Olly.
