Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have opened up about their wedding plans, confirming they are hoping to marry this year.
The 31-year-old announced her engagement to the former EastEnders star on Christmas Eve, after he proposed during a romantic walk through their local woods.
Speaking on Loose Women, the mother-of-three admitted she’s been planning her wedding “for years”.
Stacey said: I have started a scrapbook. It’s like meditation, something to look forward to even if it doesn’t happen…”
“Who knows what’s going to happen this year with everything that’s going on. But just to have something in the future.”
The TV personality admitted she waited “so long” for Joe to propose, and thought it might never happen.
“I just thought it would be a running joke between the two of us, I thought he’d just drag it out for 20 years, and maybe when we’re like 90 and the kids have left home we’d get married or something,” she said.
Joe said he finally popped the question after a “tough” year, as he felt there was “no better time than right now”.
He added: “Sometimes you got to get on the ride and go for it, and I think Stacey’s really keen to do it this year, I’m really keen as well as it’s been a really tough year and I can’t wait for her to be my wife.”
The couple later appeared on Stacey’s Instagram Story, where they revealed some of their wedding plans during a Q&A.
After a fan asked, “Are yous getting married abroad or in England?” Stacey replied, “I used to think I wanted to run away and elope. But after losing family members this year, I could not feel more opposite…”
“One of the main reasons we’d love to get married as soon as we can is because there’s special people in our lives that will not be around forever [sad face emoji] and I would do anything to share our day with them, especially knowing already how much we will miss those that can’t be there…[heart emoji].”
Stacey also admitted that she’s “really sad” about losing her surname, and doesn’t know whether she’ll take Joe’s name because it “sounds so weird”.
“It’s my mum and dad’s name. It’s me. It’s who I am” she added.
The mum-of-three also shared a green and cream themed mood board, and told her 3.9 million followers that she wants to make their wedding invites and table decorations herself.
“It’s just all so exciting” she added.
