Michelle Heaton has revealed Katie Price saved her life earlier this year, by pushing her to enter rehab.
Back in April, the Liberty X star checked herself into The Priory for alcohol addiction, after hitting “rock bottom” during lockdown.
Speaking to Lisa Cannon on her online entertainment show Spotlight, the 42-year-old candidly admitted that if it wasn’t for her “best friend” Katie, she “wouldn’t be here” today.
“Me and Kate have been best friends since I was even in the band. I’ve been her bridesmaid three times, I’ve introduced her to most of them,” she joked.
“So, we go way back. We don’t really talk about each other in interviews but what I will say is that the day she met me, if it wasn’t for that day happening, I wouldn’t be here now.”
“She helped me get into The Priory, she had just come out… and she saved my life,” she confessed.
Michelle’s comments come just weeks after Katie checked herself into The Priory, following her drink-driving arrest last month.
After Katie’s arrest hit headlines, the Liberty X star wrote on Instagram: “As you all know, Katie was there for me when I needed her and I, of course, am there for her!”
“Right now, please give us all space. And sorry to those requests to myself and my manager, we will not be talking about this or doing any interviews about it, unless Katie herself or her family wish me to.”
“Our friendship over 21 years is built on trust. At this point I just reiterate what her family said and will support all in private.”
Michelle added: “To anyone else out there who needs help – ask for it and you’ll be surprised at the support that’s given to you. Asking is the hardest but first step.”
