Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha has claimed that their father will walk Meghan down the aisle when she marries Prince Harry.
According to Samantha, Thomas Markle WILL be there to give his daughter away – despite speculation that he would not be invited to do so.
During an interview on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff, Samantha was asked if her father would be attending the wedding, and she replied, “Yes he is, God forbid unless a plane crashes through his roof, he’ll be there one way or the other.”
“So any rumour to the contrary is… MY favourite new word is becoming ‘oh rubbish’. Yeah, so he will be there.”
Samantha also made sure to deny claims that she “slammed” Prince Harry’s comments about his family being the family Meghan “never had”.Â
When it was suggested that Prince Harry’s comments were “hurtful”, Samantha said, “My response was very positive verbatim and taken far out of context. There was never slamming, it was never negative.”
“And, you know, so respectfully so, Harry said a lovely thing. But, and it’s true, marrying merely extends that family.”
Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland met her father Thomas Markle on the set of the US soap General Hospital, however, the couple divorced when Meghan was just six.
Despite living with her mother in Los Angeles for the majority of her life, Meghan also spent a lot of time with her father.
Meghan has two half-siblings, Samantha Markle and Thomas Markle Junior, from her father’s first marriage to Roslyn Markle.
