Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Snr has undergone heart surgery, and the procedure was a success.
TMZ have reported that the bride-to-be’s father is alert and out of surgery, after Thomas had stents implanted in his blood vessels after suffering a heart attack last week.
He told the outlet, “I’m ok. It will take a long time to heal. Staying in the hospital a few more days. Not allowed to get excited.”
The news comes after Thomas revealed that he would not be able to attend his daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry on Saturday due to his ill health.Â
He was supposed to walk Meghan down the aisle, but things took a turn for the worst when it was revealed that he had posed for fake paparazzi photos in the run up to the wedding.Â
Meanwhile, a source has told Entertainment Tonight, “This is a serious situation. Meghan and Harry are very concerned.”
“Thomas’ health is a private matter and therefore no comments or statements will be made [by the Palace].”
