Meghan Markle’s dreams of having a natural birth at home may be shattered, as she’s now facing the prospect of induced labour in hospital.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the Duchess of Sussex is now a week overdue – and there’s still no sign of the royal baby.

Unless there’s any change in the next 48 hours, it’s believed Meghan will likely give birth at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey.

Obstetrician Clive Spence-Jones, of the Whittington Hospital in North London, said: “A recent study found that women over 36 should consider induction around their due date, as they are at higher risk.”

“After induction there are more opportunities for medical intervention to be needed during labour, so home birth is not recommended.”

For now, Meghan and Prince Harry are eagerly-anticipating their baby’s arrival at Frogmore Cottage, where Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland is also staying.

Sources say the mum-to-be is “comfortable and happy” and “getting plenty of fresh air in the garden”.

Although the couple decided to keep their birthing plan private, it’s believed Buckingham Palace will announce when Meghan goes into labour.

However, they won’t announce any further details about the baby’s gender and birth weight etc until Meghan and Harry say so.

According to the bookies, many believe the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have a baby girl – and rumoured names include Ivy, Diana, and Allegra.
