Megan Barton-Hanson is ‘baffled’ over Love Island’s decision to cut out the sex scenes

Megan Barton-Hanson has revealed that she does not agree with this season of Love Island’s decision to censor out all sex scenes.

Eliminated contestants have confirmed that the current cast are “doing bits” but the producers are not making it an element of the show.

MBH told Grazia that she disagrees with the decision, feeling that it implies that there is something wrong or shameful about having sex.

“It’s really annoying because I felt like I’d make such positive movements and I really tried to defend myself and other women like me who do enjoy sex and are open about it,’ she told the mag.

“We shouldn’t be shamed, and men talk about it all the time so the fact they’ve completely taken it out of this year’s Love Island is baffling. I don’t understand why.”

According to The Sun, ITV have chosen not to air sex scenes for fear of “destroying” the islanders lives – after Zara Holland lost her Miss Great Britain title during season 2 of the show for sleeping with a fellow contestant.

Megan also expressed her annoyance at Molly-Mae’s attitude to sex. When contestant Maura revealed the number of sexual partners she has had, Molly-Mae appeared surprised.

“Oh my god that really annoyed me,” Megan said.

“When she said ‘keep that number low’ too, because if it was a man and they said 100 they’d be like ‘oh yeah go on lad’.”

Love Island returns to Virgin Media Two on Sunday night at 9pm.
